“Musician, model, artist, singer, and muse Jillian Ann and Love & Light have produced a new track called Know Us, an emotionally heavy, slightly Evanescence-goes-EDM piece of music that will most definitely stick out in your mind after you hear it.”

“Her voice is beautiful in and of itself, but when coupled with the talented beat-making abilities of a line-up bursting to the seams with stars, the only possible outcome is pure audio bliss; it’s only January and already we are seeing music to rival anything that came out in 2011″

“With a heart made up entirely of imaginative art, Jillian Ann is the type of girl who is consumed by her work in all the right ways. This multimedia songstress makes her living as a muse for everyone she comes in contact with. Born in Georgia and having spent time on both the east and west coast, Jillian now makes her home in LA, where she is a contributing member of the rising music scene. Singer, DJ, model, poet, environmentalist, and more, the future for this penta-threat pianist is as beautiful as she is herself. When we run into each other backstage at the music and art festival, Lightning in a Bottle, she is kind enough to sit down to share a few words with me.” – Ryan Stabile, Yahoo Music (May 28, 0011)

“Jillian Ann is a lover of music like I’ve never seen before. She gets great joy from discovering and introducing others to new artists. She’s unique in every sense of the world and will let no one dictate what kind of music she should make or who she should be. She took the interview questions I sent her and wrote some of the most through and thought-provoking answers I’ve ever read. It’s been a joy communicating with her. “Basically, this track goes off. One part heavy hitting Dubstep, one part entrancing vocals, this piece has it all. Jillian Ann and Phrenik have teamed up to create one of the most inspiring tracks I’ve heard all year. If you guys know my taste in music (which you should by now), you will understand that this track almost caters to every inch of my preferences. Downtempo? Check. High Energy? Check. A lot of bass? Of course. Beautifully integrated vocals? Yes. Little bit of Glitch? Yup. I could keep going… But I won’t. Pick this one up and keep on Droppin’. -Woodz – Glitch Drop “

“Musician, model, artist, singer, and muse Jillian Ann and Love & Light have produced a new track called Know Us, an emotionally heavy, slightly Evanescence-goes-EDM piece of music that will most definitely stick out in your mind after you hear it. This song demonstrates how EDM is ever-expanding and how genres are being mashed up all over the place these days to create great new music. As expected, the original was also remixed extensively, with a few in particular being quite noteworthy. There are two definite “don’t miss it” versions on here, Nit Grits version takes the track in a bit of a different direction, giving it an entrancingly dark’n'groovy dubsteppy feel. The next essential remix is by Shock-N, an unfamiliar name that will not remain unfamiliar much longer as we all run to discover more of this artist’s work. Essentially Know Us gets an almost Skrillex-meets-Skream makeover that is quite the jaw-dropper.”

“Jillian embodies everything I so often advocate and preach about the music industry. She pours her heart and soul into every piece of music she creates and despite her incredible talent she makes it her quest to share her art and collaborate with as many other talented musicians as possible. When offered a chance by Simplify Recordings to release the “Know Us” remix album, Jillian was absolutely ecstatic. Not only was the album a massive success, topping multiple SoundCloud, Beatport, and Addictech charts, it gave Jillian the opportunity to see all the various ways that her soul could manifest itself through her music”

Jillian Ann recently released several entire albums of solo content and I honestly can’t even begin to express how impressed I am by new the material as a whole. Jillian embodies everything I so often advocate and preach about the music industry. Not only was the album a massive success, topping multiple SoundCloud, Beatport, and Addictech charts, it gave Jillian the opportunity to see all the various ways that her soul could manifest itself through her music. Regardless of remix artist, Jillian shines through in all of the various versions. She lays herself bare in everything she creates, I felt like I knew her personally merely from her music. It is often said that every artist needs their muse, an unending font of inspiration to come to when their creativity runs dry; Jillian Ann is just such a muse and she is absolutely eager to unleash her talent upon the world in as many ways as possible. If you are a producer looking for vocals, inspiration, or even just some great new music to listen to, I highly recommend checking out Jillian Ann’s SoundCloud. This girl really does everything, from refreshingly stark and beautiful neoclassic piano compositions to stunning vocal ballads, Jillian excels at everything she attempts. Check out the wide variety of material from her latest releases and give this muse the chance she deserves!

Jillian Ann is a singer and a songwriter, a composer and a melody maker. Jillian was the lead singer of Heavyweight Dub Champion for two years and has DJ’d and toured as a solo artist as well. She is also working extensively with lots of people in the Glitch/Dubstep Community on remixes and collaborations, some of these people include Love and Light, Nit Grit, David Starfire, AN-TEN-NAE, PROPATINGZ, Ben Samples, Stylust, Sugarpill, Knight Riderz, etc. In addition to singing and producing, Jillian Ann writes all her own lyrics, and funds all her own music “by playing a doll to people with cameras, but its given me the freedom to evolve as a artist.” -Jillian AnnHer most recent and highly publicized release is her collaborative track with Love and Light,”Know Us“, and the variety of high profile remixes she has to accompany it. Her voice is beautiful in and of itself, but when coupled with the talented beat-making abilities of a line-up bursting to the seams with stars, the only possible outcome is pure audio bliss; it’s only January and already we are seeing music to rival anything that came out in 2010! Head over to Additech and give a listen to the remixes by An-Ten-Nae, David Starfire, Knight Riderz, Nit Grit, Samples, Shock-N, Splatinum, Stylust Beats, and Sugarpill. Each participating artist takes the magic of Jillian Ann’s voice and transforms it into their own glitch-inspired fantasy. My personal favorites are the Nit Grit, Ben Samples, and Knight Riderz remixes!

In this epic release we match up the multi-talented singer and model Jillian Ann with the hottest newcomers on the West Coast, Love & Light. In their original composition, Ann’s haunting vocal pairs with Love & Light’s brand of playa-fied schlump-funk in what is sure to be one of 2011’s biggest glitch hop / dubstep releases. Throw in remixes from a who’s who of the best of the West and beyond, including An-ten-nae, NiT GriT, David Starfire, Splatinum, Knight Riderz, Stylust Beats, Shock-N, and Sugarpill, and you have this monster of an EP, Know Us.
“Jillian Ann +Love & Light-Know Us(Dubstep Remix by NiTGriT) Looks like I was snoozin’ three months ago when NiT GriT released this freakishly filthy dubstep remix of “Know Us”. I love the original, love the remix and especially love it when a dubstep song or remix is faster than the standard 140 bpm. My fingers are burning just typing this description…..it’s that hot! Hear the original beat here.

Jillian Ann & Auditory Canvas in All That Matters in Music Playing an improvisational chillout set inside the ‘dome was Auditory Canvas, lead by hotter-than-sin singer Jillian Ann. Her improvised free verse and sexy singing stylings were very well done . The ambience was very relaxed as this group flexed their creativity muscles to the auditory pleasure of Burners smoking hookah and lounging about. Although they didn’t get a chance to play all of their original material using the set-up they available, the set they executed was still very inspirational.

Jillian Ann in Fixe Magizine

What music first captured your ear and got you interested in music? I was home schooled and it seems I spent most of my free time listening to music, or making it. My first musical exposure was with classical music which started my journey , I discovered college radio and found myself more attracted to the music that they played even when I was young than the commercial stations. The artists I fell in love with first were Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, then Massive Attack, Enigma, NIN, Portishead, Tricky, Tori Amos, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, The Cure, The Smiths, a huge amount of Electronic music from Brian Eno to John Digweed, Rabbit in The Moon, Paul Okenfold and its only grown. Now that I think about it, I have always been obsessed with music, I find often it is the only language I know how to speak, and that I really understand. Music created a soundtrack to my life and that created a life based on the music. Music is magical I can’t see it but I can feel it, being without it feels as if I have lost a part of myself. I love music not only making it but listening, it is like taking a thousand trips through someone else’s soul.

Jillian Ann + HDC with Tricky in 944 Heavyweight Dub Champion (HDC) opened up a 3 members unit consisting of Totter Todd, Resurrector, and their amazing and beautiful vocalist Jillian Ann. HDC got the crowd primed with their dark, throbbing, harmonic geniusly live mixed set consisting of a wide range of instruments and equipment generating an eclectic electronic sound like I have never heard.

Jillian Ann – Honda Ski Tour -Powder Magazine “Fun little town you got here,” I say to Lynsey Dyer as I hand her a drink pilfered from the VIP bar in the Basecamp tent. Cheese-metal band Hinder is butchering the airwaves with their wannbe Creed sound while hundreds of wannabe hard-heads from Boise and beyond are, somewhat inexplicably, loving it. “This is pretty much the most fun it’s ever been,” the Sun Valley native counters. And so unfolds the rest of the night: Swollen Members, Jillian Ann, Don Carlos, and eventually a van crammed with people heading for Club Doug.

Jillian Ann: Portrait of an Artist-Model-Musician-Muse

Jillian Ann: Portrait of an Artist-Model-Musician-Muse

OMP: What advice do you have for aspiring musicians? Jillian Ann: Work on music all the time, that means singing, playing, the visual aspect, and promoting it all the time. Everyone I know who is successful works insane amounts of time on their music and gives their soul and heart to it. If you’re not passionate about it to the point of putting it first, those who are fighting for the stage are.  Work hard, learn as much as you can, and as a wise person once said “be nice to everyone you meet on the way up because you will have to see them again on the way down.” Just because you can sing, or write a song or play drums doesn’t mean you’re going to get my attention, if I can’t feel your soul coming out through your music, your art, your voice then I am bored and they will be too. Do not conform to try to be like Lady Gaga or anyone else, just be you, find  the “you” and be the best at it. No one can be you, there is no competition there is no reason to think there is competition the only one that can hold you back is you, it’s not someone else’s fault. If they are on stage and making records and you’re not, except you. So find your heart, find your soul, find your voice, be it singing or a instrument and never give up and work on it as much as you can. Do it because you love it, from your heart and do the best you can , learn all you can, don’t give up  just because you’re not on MTV ( wait they don’t even show music videos)  You may not make money for a long time, but do it for more than money, do it because you love it because it makes you happy then the money and doors will come. Art is a path, a process, a journey. Love it and  never give up no matter what anyone says. I just want to encourage all of you to follow your  dreams and to be creative.

Jillian Ann Interview in Shabooty Tell us in detail your diet and workout regimen? I am a raw food vegan, I eat all organic local if possible – mostly protein, sauerkraut, seaweed, greens, fresh juices, berries, super foods and some fruits (apples berries). I take herbs from Amazon Herbs, Dragon Herbs, Digestive and metabolic Enzymes, minerals, pro biotics (Prana). I drink lots and lots of water that has been filtered by a system we have at our house that alkalizes the water as well as purifies it. I also drink tea, mate, green tea, herb teas, I take lots of herbs, eat lots of ginger, garlic, olive oil, coconut oil, flax oil, seeds, some nuts, and raw chocolate which I make myself or buy from Ulimana. I became a raw food vegan because it makes your skin look amazing, gives most people tons of energy, and it makes me feel amazing, and I can eat all I want and I don’t gain weight and I feel great and my skin looks great. When I was younger I ate the standard American diet (pizza, etc.) and my skin was horrible, and I had a massive problem keeping thin and was depressed all the time, I figured something was wrong and set out to figure out how to fix it, I spent years researching and experimenting and am still learning lots. The most important change I made was eating real food, and organic and local whenever possible, drinking the best water I could get a hold of (glass bottles not plastic), using all eco-friendly 100 percent natural cleaners in my home, using air filters, using 100 percent natural skin beauty and body products (like Burts Bees or Dr Bronner’s ). Basically, I went through my entire home and life and tried to get rid of anything toxic, inside my home, the products I use, and the food I eat, I try to keep it all as close to nature as possible. Since I have made those changes, my skin has become flawless, I am rarely sick, and my doctor always says I am one of the healthiest people he has seen.

New Interview and Feature On One Model Place Part 1

Jillian Ann feature on One Model Place

OMP: How do you describe yourself as a model? Jillian Ann: I am a artist who happens to model. I can shape-shift, and I’ve been told that I am a good muse. I love striving for a large range of emotions and characters, which makes me pretty diverse. I have worked for a wide range of clients, from a typical commercial client like Canon to latex designers to being the girl in the sunglasses ad. Despite my height, I’ve done runway and I’m in images that hang in art galleries. For me, it is about being the best I can be no matter what the job is, how much they pay or what they ask. When I do something, I commit to it 100%.  I have been one of the ones out there trying to bend and break the old rules and dissolve concepts like “you can’t do this if you do that.”  The only that matters is making great pictures.  I was told by a photographer that I am the model with a thousand faces, and a thousand characters. I guess that’s true, but now I am looking for 1001.

“NEW YORK CITY has more energy then any other place I have been,” writes model/musician Jillian Ann on her Web site (www.jillianann.com). “But there is a lot of pain, a lot of stress, anger, fear, hopelessness, depression.” Yeah, the rising electronica star has a dark side. So dark, she some- times forgets to use the space bar. Yet the Georgia native is not always on edge. Her two bedroom pad in Williamsburg is a “person- al sanctuary.” She tells Metro how you, too, can escape New York. Paint it not black “I’m a big believer in color. For me, New York can be kind of gray. [Laughs] So I have a purple room, a red room, a green room, a yellow room and a blue room. I painted it and realized those are all the col- ors of the chakras. The light violet room is pretty calming.” Get jungle fever “There’s a lack of plants in New York. I buy some at the farmers’ market at Union Square and in the neighborhood. It’s about bringing some nature back to your apartment because there may not be much out of it. It helps balance out things out, having living things. I have a cat, too, named Wonder. They’re great for de-stressing you.” Lose the TV “I don’t have one because it distracts, even thought I do have my own show on the Web site, a video diary. One of my guidelines with the editors was to have nothing negative in the series. I wanted to show the other side of people as opposed to focusing on the negative    or    f laws.    You    can be real and not focus on drama. I’m all about that.” MICHAEL FREIDSON

Jillian Ann in Frantik Magazine Gian: Hey there Jillian, so when were you born and where? Jillian: I was born a long time ago and in chattanooga Tenesse Gian: Your lyrics are deep and hypnotizing, where do you find the inspiration when writing your lyrics? Jillian: Through life and its never ending journey, through nature and observation, from love and injustice, from hope and spirituality, through everything I witness in every passing moment. Gian: The music you create is sensual, passionate and soulful. Where does all of this soulful meaning come from and what is the message that you are trying to convey? Jillian: My entire life is focused on a spiritual core, of reflection and meditation, for life is but a reflection of our souls, and music is just s reflection of my soul. There are many messages not just one, but many that deal with everything from liberation to overcoming obstacals.

OMP: What are your future goals as a model? Jillian Ann: I am always on a quest to make better and better pictures. I am working on a book at the moment which I am planning on releasing with my next album. My music career is expanding and so I hope to perform and model more internationally over the next few years. I am working more and more with designers and have started to art direct and produce Photo shoots and have become involved in every aspect, except taking the actual picture. But from styling to retouching I am getting more and more into the art directing and not just the modeling. I am also working on doing more film work, where I take everything I know and rather than make a still picture, make amazing moving pictures like my video “Confess” which I made with a photographer I met because of OMP. It was a great collaborative experience and I am very proud of it and the song that goes with it of course. I have more visions than I seem to have time to do, but I am working on it and will just keep creating till I am no more.

Morley View – Jillian Ann Interview antiMUSIC: Do you consider yourself a musician first or a model/actor? Jillian Ann: I was actually a musician first but I was really shy with my music, (laughs) because people would…it was kinda weird to play piano and see people get so affected and it really actually made me kinda shy when I was younger. So I played piano since I was 11 but I was still kinda getting used to when you perform you’re connecting one-on-one. It’s like a really kinda intense experience. I also felt I had to be responsible with it, because I watched a bunch of my favorite people kill themselves and I thought I don’t want to that…I don’t want to be that person. Not that I…I understand why they killed themselves. It’s very intense being a performer and being in the music industry and it can be very difficult on a sensitive person. I kinda took my time with it even though music was my first thing. Modeling came later when I was sitting around thinking how am I going to pay for this. That’s how actually how modeling came in. I didn’t want to take a bad deal just because I needed money

New Interview Published at Cyber Angels

Jillian Ann in Cyber Angel

How did you get in contact with producer Bruce Somers (co-founder of kidneythieves) and what influence did he have on your sound? My manager also manages him, I was a fan of his work when I was a teenager. One day my manager took me over to Bruce, and we played him a song and then from there it just clicked. I love his style and sound and he is great to work with he is great at pushing me and pulling the best out of me. I was seeking the addition of heavy sexy and dark when it came to bass, beats, and guitars and I don’t play them so I had been seeking that for a long time. When I finally found it I was so happy because it was what I had been looking for creatively in another. Lots of people can make music in the box, I don’t want that, I want music that isn’t afraid to push the limits and break the mold a bit and he is amazing and pushing those limits and breaking some rules.
